The Hario V60 is made from steel and uses size 02 paper filters. The dripper features a silicone base that securely holds the brew over a carafe. The Hario metal V60 dripper is one of the most popular options.

Why the cone shape? The cone-shaped paper filter adds depth to the coffee layers, allowing water to flow through the center, extending the contact time with the ground coffee.

To prepare delicious coffee, you need freshly ground high-quality coffee, a filter, your favorite dripper, a carafe, and a scale. Place the filter in the dripper and set it over the container you’re using to serve coffee. The brewing process takes only 3-4 minutes. Another advantage of this method is the incredibly easy maintenance. After use, simply remove the filter and rinse the dripper under running water or place it in the dishwasher.

Here is one way to make great tasting coffee on the Hario V60.

• Use a ratio of 60g of coffee for 1 litre of water. If your making for one then most cups will be about 300ml so you need 18g of coffee.
• Grind the coffee courser than espresso, like sand.
• Boil fresh water and wait 1 minute to let the water cool to approx 95c.
• Place the filter paper in the V60 and pour some water over the filter paper to rinse.
• Place the ground coffee in the now wet filter paper then start pouring slowly onto the ground coffee.
• The pouring and drip time should take about 3-4 minutes.

Result: Delicious coffee!
